On the last day of lockdown on Sun 18th July 2020, the street around St Barnabas came alive to the beat of Jerusalema as 80 people from around Markhouse ward in Walthamstow came together to dance, share fun and food with each other and take part in African drumming workshop.
This was the culmination of several weeks of meeting with small groups from different streets to teach them the dance steps to the Jerusalema sound track which had gone viral world wide. The warm sunshine added to the joy felt by us on the day as we looked forward to the start of normality”
